We are committed to ministering to the youth of Christ Church and to reaching the youth in our community...

As we build this ministry, our guiding principles are centered on 6 core values:

  • Ministry of Presence

  • Ministry of the Word
  • Ministry of Mercy
  • Ministry of Partnership
  • Ministry of Evangelism & Discipleship
  • Ministry of Prayer.

"We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us."
1 Thessalonians 2:8

Jesus poured his life into his disciples, living and serving with them while ministering to them. His was a relational ministry. Recognizing the relational hunger of the youth, and the wisdom of Jesus, we believe we can best minister to the youth when we are present in their lives.

"For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."
Hebrews 4:12

In Godʼs Word we find a mirror into our own hearts, as well as the self-revelation of our Creator. It is the story of Creation-Fall-Redemption-Consummation, that is also our story. It is the basis of our authority, and it is the means of grace whereby we come to know the redeeming love of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Therefore, we seek to minister with the Word and to teach the youth how to study the Word for themselves.

"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others."
Philippians 2:3-4

As followers of Christ, we are called to love and serve as Christ loved and served. That includes the youth of our church. Jesus modeled this ministry for us and challenged us to join him.

"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
Philippians 1:3-6

We recognize and seek to affirm that the spiritual development of the student is primarily the responsibility of the parents. In ministering to the student, we also seek to serve and equip parents through training and teaching.

"Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Matthew 28:19-20

We believe we are called by Jesus to do the work of evangelism and discipleship among the students we have been given the privilege and responsibility of ministering to. Additionally though, we seek to invite the students into this glorious mission of telling others of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

"Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints."
Ephesians 6:18

Jesus taught us how to pray. He also modeled for us a life of prayer. This prayer is part of the way in which he invites us into relationship with the Father. In that relationship, we are dependent upon the grace of God for our lives and our we pray. In praying, we invite the students to join us in a life of prayer.
