The next step in our ministry to the children

I am thrilled to share with you that Kristy Woodward has joined our staff as Children's Ministry Director.  Her addition to the staff marks the next step in our ministry to the children, both to the covenant children of Christ Church, and to the children of Trussville.  To help you get to know her, I am including her bio below.

Born and raised in Trussville, I graduated from Hewitt-Trussville in 1996, and went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree from Auburn University in 2000. Although I graduated in the same high school class as my future husband, Sam Woodward, it wasn’t until we were both students at Auburn University that we began dating and eventually married in May of 2001. The Lord has blessed us with four wonderfully unique children (Sam, Jack, Luke and Ava) who serve as constant reminders of God’s love and saving grace, while at the same time teaching us both the meaning of love, self-sacrifice, joy, discipline, kindness, self-control, gentleness, patience and repentance. Time spent with my family, in both the quiet moments and the chaotic whirlwinds, can be a real eye-opener to the ongoing process of sanctification that the Lord is working in my life!

Although I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior when I was a young girl, it wasn’t until my late twenties that I truly grasped the gravity of my sinful nature and my desperate need for Jesus. To realize that I was dead in my sin but that God chose to make me alive through His gift of faith according to His grace marked a significant turning point in my relationship with Christ. Now, as I begin a position in children’s ministry, I am extremely grateful for my husband Sam, who's genuinely sincere example of Christian leadership in our home, and in our church, will serve as a model for me as I navigate this new path that the Lord has put me on. I’ve come across numerous stories in the Bible where God calls people with little or no experience in regards to what He may be asking them to do, but the key was always to have a willing heart and the ability to step out in faith. I believe in the sovereignty of God and that if He calls me, He will equip me, and to all that may come from this new calling in my God alone be the glory!
